Carmi Martin, who is turning 61 this August 9, 2024, divulged some of her secrets to remaining youthful-looking.
She has been in the industry for 44 years, and until now is busy with projects that are currently in the works.
These are the upcoming TV5 teleserye, Ang Himala ni Niño, a Star Cinema movie, and an indie film.
“Very busy and so blessed," said Carmi, referring to opportunities coming her way.
She was interviewed by entertainment reporters, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the opening of the beauty and wellness clinic, Charm, on July 31, 2024.
On the other hand, the veteran actress also admitted that lasting this long in the industry can also be very tiring.
“Nakakapagod," Carmi exclaimed, adding, "That's why I go to Charm. That's the secret.”
Carmi serves as one of the endorsers and influencers of the beauty clinic Charm, which stands for Center for Healthy Aging and Regenerative Medicine.
“Because, I really take care of myself, no? Physically, visually,” she went on, highlighting the importance of physical looks in the entertainment industry.
According to Carmi, the aesthetic clinic offers beauty treatments on a cellular level.
She elaborated, “Kasi, kahit na I look young, kunyari, para namang pagod na pagod yung pakiramdam ko, I go to wellness.
“Dahil ang pag-age ay hindi ako exempted. Kasi, sometimes, sa mukha para [looking] young, I have a clinic for that. I go to a dermatologist.
“Pero yung inner talaga, kailangan ng drip and tulong na katulad ni Dr. Joel, who will address about my hormones.”
The beauty clinic's owner, Dr. Joel Lopez, averred that wellness starts from the inside.

CARMI ON COSMETIC SURGERY
Asked about her opinion on cosmetic surgery, Carmi told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Wag sobra. Wag sobra.”
She added, “Katulad ko, ako nagpapa-botox ako.”
Botox injections are commonly used to diminish wrinkles in the face.
Continuing, Carmi pointed out her limits with regard to beauty procedures.
“Like yung ilong ko, pareho pa rin. Hindi ako nagpapalaki ng bibig or yung whatever...
“Gusto ko lang yung natural. Parang I just woke up like this. Parang looking fresh.”

NOT JUST ABOUT PHYSICAL LOOKS
Carmi stressed that having the right attitude is equally important to taking good care of herself to stay in her kind of work.
“Siguro important din yung professionalism, di ba? And ang pinaka-last na ginawa ko is, even at senior age, I did an acting workshop.
“So, in short, hindi ko na sinabi lang na, ‘Oh, having good looks and maintaining my looks.’
“At saka, mabait naman ako sa taping. And being professional is not enough.
"You have to offer the viewers something different: in drama, in comedy, whatever… kailangan yung acting mo, hindi yung acting mo nung ‘80s, di ba?”
