Coleen Garcia does a quick reality check in her recent social media post.

As a working mom, Coleen knows firsthand that feeling and looking her best every single day isn't always feasible.

On May 7, 2024, she uploads a set of photos on Instagram story, setting apart expectation from reality.

GOING UNFILTERED

Coleen's point begins with a photo of her looking fresh and radiant in a white ruched maxi sun dress, along with the caption, "what you think I look like at home."

It is then followed by a mirror selfie of her in the bathroom, honestly disclosing, "but actually... sometimes, I look like this."

In the latter snap shot, she goes barefaced and unfiltered, clad in her underwear.

She writes over the photo (published as is), "I look sick. I look pale. I look depressed. My hair's a frizzy mess, esp in this insane heat.

"No, it’s not 'cause of bisyo. It’s not 'cause of unbearable stress or marital problems or depression."

To clarify, she says, "It’s because I’m human. We all are. I break out. I get tired. I am getting older every day.

"Anyone can bash, judge, and speculate.

"Or we can lessen that, and make it SAFER for people to be unapologetically authentic 'cause no one should ever have to feel like they need to put on a mask just to be accepted."

The Isang Gabi lead star concludes: "showbiz is a switch we turn on until we get to shed the makeup, the hair extensions, and the pretensions and just BE.

COLEEN ADVOCATES FOR BODY POSITIVITY

Since giving birth to her son with husband Billy CrawfordAmari Crawford—on September 10, 2020, Coleen has fully embraced the concept of body positivity.

Eight months into motherhood, on May 17, 2021, she conveyed an encouraging message to go with a photo of her post-pregnancy body that read: "I may not be as fit, and I will never be as young, as I used to be.

"I’m able to point out even more of my flaws now, but I’ve never appreciated myself as much as I do today.

"I’m at my most beautiful, not because I look it, but because I finally feel it. [heart emoji] And I’m here to tell you that you are beautiful, too!"

On Amari's first birthday, Coleen reminisced the experience with throwback photos of her baby bump almost fully covered with stretch marks.

To a netizen asking how she was able to remove them, Coleen related that she just lets these stripes and streaks be: "They’re still here!

"The color just faded, but they’re still kinda sunken. [smile]

"You can really only see them up close or in harsh lighting. Haven’t done anything to treat them."
