WHAT IS THE ASOKA MAKE-UP TREND?
The "Asoka Makeup Trend" takes cues from the 2001 Hindi film "Asoka," starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, which portrays a fictionalized account of the ancient Mauryan emperor Ashoka the Great.
Content creators participating in this make-up challenge adorn themselves in Indian bridal hair, make-up, and attire, all while grooving to the movie's soundtrack "San Sanana."
Indonesian content creator Sita Suwarnadwipa kicked off the trend on March 29, 2024, and it has since gained millions of views.
