It's no surprise that the biggest fans of OPM artist Jayda Avanzado are her celebrity parents, Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado,
An only child, the 20-year-old singer oozes with confidence that comes from having such hype parents who keep reminding her about how naturally beautiful she is.
Jayda chuckles as she recounts, "I think one thing that I was raised about is when it comes to things like that, like my mom always would like hype me up
"At the same time in a very kind of like reasonable way, I think, for them. It was always what helped my self-esteem growing up.
"I grew into a generally secure individual because my parents were always about like, ‘Hey, this is what God gave you. You should appreciate that and own it.’"
Even then, she has had bouts of insecurities now and then, she admitted as much to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the launch of the Korean beauty brand Deoproce's new line of skin and body care products on February 13, 2024.
Jayda said, "It's really funny because I was talking about this with my mom last night so, this is actually really perfect, honestly.
"For me, I think one of my insecurities and, as just a whole, I just wish that my body was more like mas curvier siya, if that makes sense.
"Just those little things but, nevertheless, I'm pretty happy with the way that my body looks."

Jayda is done feeling unsure about herself and has gone past dwelling over her insecurities.
She mused about self-love as a continuous journey of believing in herself and being encouraged by a support system—meaning her mom and dad—that fuels her sense of security.

Jayda gave her mom extra credit for instilling in her a positive perception of body image, "She told me, actually she was like, ‘I honestly think that your body is curvy’ and she says that it's also normal to have insecurities.
"That's really it because you know, we're all made to be individuals and we all have our sense of individuality.
"There's really only one version of you so it's really good to take care of that and to wear your own skin proudly."

TAKING CHARGE
One of the ways Jayda takes care of herself is by meticulously selecting products that are safe for people like her who suffer from skin asthma.
"It's whatever my skin agrees with more than like, I mean obviously, I love a lot of kind of products," she said.
Also, working on maintaining her physical health through contact sports has also helped Jayda in coming to terms with her body.
She shared, "I've been working hard on it. I mean I work out, I box, I do boxing."
In a message to her followers, she reminded, "I think for me, I think it's super valid to have insecurities.
"We all have that and I think at the end of the day, it's about embracing what you have and your flaws.
"I guess just working on self-improvement and just bettering yourself."

COSMETIC ENHANCEMENTS
About individuals choosing to alter their natural features because of insecurities, Jayda pointed to cosmetic enhancements as a positive experience—her understanding of the role these procedures play in boosting self-esteem.

She affirmed, "For me, I think that's an okay thing, yeah, if it helps someone's confidence."
In the same vein, Jayda stressed as well the importance of moderation when undergoing enhancement procedures for the sake of feeling good about oneself
She said, "Obviously for me, it would be good if it wasn't in excess," hinting at the significance of maintaining a balance in pursuing modified treatments or plastic surgery.
"Then again, at the same time, whatever makes a person happy and feels... makes them feel, you know, more comfortable in their own skin, like I think that's okay for me."
Ultimately, Jayda suggested that appearance-related decisions preferably must be made with the intention of positive growth, personal happiness and comfort.
"If you're going to change, always just change for the better and always, you know, have your whole heart in it," she said.
