Things are looking up for Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the Philippines' bet to Miss Universe 2015.
The Filipino-German beauty was a crowd favorite during the pageant's preliminary round on Wednesday night, December 16 (U.S. time), at The AXIS auditorium in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pia took the stage with her ethnic, multicultural-inspired national costume—an ivory-colored serpentina terno with capiz embellishments by Albert Andrada.
The designer's name was the only information Pia gave about her national costume when she was interviewed during her send-off press conference last November 25.
She said, “The national costume will be [made] by a Filipino designer, and then we'll find out about it during the pageant. Abangan na lang po natin."

As for her evening gown, Pia wore a red beaded number with a scoop neckline from Oliver Tolentino’s latest collection.
Well, it was actually a back-up gown.
Rumors circulated on the internet that Pia was going to wear an Albert Andrada creation. But the gown failed to arrive on time for the preliminary elimination in Las Vegas due to Typhoon Nona.
